Service Charter
The Information and Referral Program of the Mental Health Foundation endeavours to provide timely, accurate and appropriate information, advice, referrals, source materials and limited support on mental health and related issues to the community in the ACT.
 
 
Responsibilities
The Information and Referral Program is required to:
  • Provide accurate and up to date information on all mental health services and service providers in the ACT and adjacent areas.
  • Provide an Information Line to be accessed by consumers, carers, service providers and other professionals, researchers, students and any member of the public.
  • Provide, maintain, keep up to date and distribute the Directory of Mental Health Services for the ACT and adjacent areas.
  • Making consumers, carers, service providers and the public aware of services that are available.
  • Maintain a library of source materials relevant to mental health issues, their treatment and common professional and self-help therapies.
  • Provide specialised information packages for consumers and carers, and around particular conditions.
  • Maintain a web site focussed on the provision of information, links and other databases.
  • Host and support a range of mental health related support groups and services.
  • Act as a central communication point for the Mental Health Foundation.

  • Telephone

  • Regular Presentations to individuals in acute settings
  • Presentations as required to community groups
  • One-to-one to members of public and others visiting office
  • Provision of a library and other source materials
The service includes a library (please phone before coming to ensure staff are there at that time)
 
The office is located at 6/42 Townshend St Phillip (Hansel and Gretel Building, in the same building as the Hansel and Gretel Coffee Shop but other corner of the building and up the stairs).
